Job Description

Our client who provides global technical services, technology capability and major project delivery in both Upstream and Downstream activities is looking to recruit a Senior Petrophysicist.


You will be the senior of five Petrophysicists, and one of six senior technical staff in PE department. In this regard you will be looked to for advice and judgement, much of it cross-disciplinary, for a variety of issues as they arise.

Technical assurance of Petrophysics deliverables.

Contribute to technical reviews.

Manage logging contracts

Mentor, coach and develop junior PP staff.

Operational support as required for 2 rigs, hoist, multiple e-line / slickline units.

Mentor, coach and help develop the Petrophysics skills of new Gabonese staff.

Provide petrophysics input to well and workover proposals, and data gathering proposals in supprt of other opportunities.

Identify and implement industry best practices, particularly in new petrophysical tools and techniques.

Contribute to optimal cross-discipline integration, development and maintenance of multi-disciplinary teams.

Living and working in a remote environment with limited resources and contractor capability means that you need to be flexible and will frequently be dealing with unexpected changes of plan.


Exploration & Production professional with 9 - 10 years experience in petrophysics, geological model building and operations.

Experience with cased hole logging essential.

Sound understanding of evaluation of subsurface uncertainty and its impact on field development.

Ability to quickly switch between different tasks (studies, well delivery, Wells Reservior Management) and assets.

Knowledge of French language will be to your benefit, but not essential.

Keen team player with leadership skills and ability to liaise with other petroleum engineering disciplines as well as a range of other functions.

Good communicator capable of working in dynamic team environment.
